RLSS National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches (NRASTC)
The NRASTC is a nationally recognised qualification for teachers, coaches or anyone that supervisors programmed swimming lessons.
Candidates should be able to swim 20 metres on their front and back continuously and leave the water unaided.
Candidates must be at least 16 at the start of the course.
The RLSS NRASTC award is not the equivalent to a lifeguard qualification. Anyone wishing to fulfill the role of a lifeguard would need to successfully complete the RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (see our pool lifeguard page).
